Laganja Estranja (Jay Jackson) is a world renowned LGBTQIA+ icon most known for her music, choreography, and cannabis advocacy.

A U.S. Presidential Scholar in The Arts, Jackson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance and choreography from the California Institute of the Arts and launched to stardom after being selected to compete on RuPaul's Drag Race. Since then, Laganja has performed her original music across the world, spanning sixteen countries and six continents. She had performed on numerous television shows and for artists such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Christina Aguilera. In 2019, New York Magazine named Laganja as one of the “Most Powerful Drag Queens in America,” and Dope Magazine featured her on their cover, making her the first LGBTQIA+ entertainer to appear on the cover of a cannabis magazine. Laganja has also served as the face of many advertising campaigns including but not limited to Samsung, Jack Daniels, Paramount Plus, and Sally Hanson.

Dance

Known for her famous dip, Laganja is not only a technically trained dancer but also a skilled choreographer and successful teacher traveling the world with her dance school. Seen on Seasons 15 and 16 of So You Think You Can Dance, Laganja has made a name for herself far beyond the television screen. Collaborations include McDonalds, Miley Cyrus, Perez Art Museum Miami, YoungArts, Backlit Gallery, Nottingham Contemporary and popular YouTube channels including Brian Friedman and DanceON.

Music

Laganja began her music career in 2014 as a feature on RuPaul’s “Jealous Of My Boogie” and soared to new heights just one year later with her first single, “Legs” featuring internationally known rapper Rye Rye. The debut single received critical acclaim online and was ranked the third best Rupaul's Drag Race song by Pitchfork. Laganja was then featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Star 2 winner Alaska’s track “Gimme All Your Money” and collected over 3.5 million listens cross-platform receiving rave reviews from Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, Huffington Post, and Jezebel. Since then, Laganja has released eight more singles, which have garnished millions of streams on their own.

Cannabis

As a cannabis rights activist, Laganja has hosted numerous conversations on the importance of legalization including the Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and with Impulse Group in San Francisco. She has also been featured countless times in High Times Magazine as well as on the cover of Dope Magazine and Honey Pot Magazine. Laganja is actively developing her lifestyle brand which currently includes her pot-centric clothing collection and water piece with Empire GlassWorks.
